Photos of Early Days

 A collection of historic photos on display in the museum includes this one showing four Clayton County lawyers circa 1840-1850. Standing at the left is Judge Eliphalet Price who was prominent in the campaigns to decide on the location of the County Seat and whose son, Rialto Price, built a handsome Elkader house now on the National Register of Historic Sites. Standing on the right is S.H. Williams. Seated on the left is Reuben Noble and next to him is Samuel Murdock. Mounted pictures of dowtown Elkader100 plus years ago, mostly take by local photographer, D.C. Hale, are also a part of this collection.
