A Belle of 1846

In 1846 this silk tissue gown was fashionable, and 150 years later is it still pretty enough to wear to a formal event. The museum has a collection of women's clothing from the 19th and 20th centuries which ranges from the eras of the hoop and bustle to beaded flapper gowns and beyond.
