Donations, Investments

The Elkader Historical Society is a 501-C-3 nonprofit organization. Tax deductible donations of funds for the Society or artifacts for the Carter House Museum can be made through the officers and directors of the board. An open endowment to insure the future of the Society has been established with the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. Special Holiday Events

The Carter House is lavishly decorated for the holidays each year, and the Elkader Historical Society hosts a preview party in the museum on Friday evening
the week before Thanksgiving.
